A powerful stage performance that imagines Dr. King and Malcolm X in conversation, followed by a live audience dialogue that belongs to everyone in the room. The Meeting is a live theatrical experience paired with facilitated conversation, designed to move an audience from watching history to reflecting on their own place in it.
The Meeting brings two of history’s most consequential voices to the stage, portrayed by actors in an imagined conversation the historical record never captured, then hands the moment to the audience. It is a live performance, but it does not end at the curtain. What begins on stage continues among everyone present.
WestBone’s value is not access to famous people. It is what happens to people in the room. The Meeting invites audiences to see themselves in larger cultural questions, about justice, identity, and the choices a community makes, and to leave not only informed, but in conversation.
Every performance is paired with a facilitated dialogue that turns reflection into exchange. Audiences move from watching to contributing: sharing perspective, asking questions, and connecting across difference. An optional author reading introduction, Echo In The Distance with Shayla Michelle, can open the experience.
